Alex de León

Alex was raised in Tucson, Arizona watching shows like Star Trek: The Next Generation, Babylon 5 and The X-Files. He is also a huge Star War fan and he spent hours wearing out VHS tapes of The Original Trilogy.

Later, he went to film school and went on to work in television news. He now works in Tucson as a paramedic.

Alex's love of Star Wars endures with series like The Clone Wars and The Mandalorian. Blaster Fire was conceived after he and his paramedic partner found themselves lost in conversation about Star Wars in between the lights and the sirens.

The two thought: why not record the conversations? Blaster Fire was born with the hope that others might find their chats as interesting as they did.

Nick Starks

Nick was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona and has been drawn to sci-fi, fantasy, and superhero stories from a very young age.

As he grew older, he developed a passion for emergency medicine and he went into EMS shortly after high school. And while he loves his current work as a paramedic, his first love remains the stories he read and watched on repeat as a kid, Star Wars being at the top of that list.

When his EMT partner Alex suggested that they start a podcast for the deep-dive Star Wars conversations happening on shift, Nick thought he was joking. Once he realized that it was a real suggestion, and that Alex had the technical ability to make it happen, he realized what a fantastic idea it was. And thus, Blaster Fire was born. So put on your overthinking-caps and give it a listen!
